Former U.S. President Bush, 90, released from Houston hospital: spokesman

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, 90, was released from a Houston hospital on Tuesday after a weeklong stay brought on by breathing difficulties, his spokesman said.
"President Bush was released from the Houston Methodist Hospital today," spokesman Jim McGrath said in a statement. "He is now resting at home, grateful to the doctors and nurses for their superb care."
Bush was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital the night of Dec. 23 and admitted for observation after experiencing shortness of breath, McGrath said.
Bush, who served one term as the 41st president from 1989 to 1993, was admitted to the same hospital in November 2012 for bronchitis and related ailments. He was so ill at one point that he was believed to be near death but recovered and was allowed to go home after seven weeks.
His eldest son, former President George W. Bush, published a best-selling book this year about his father, titled "41 - A Portrait of My Father."

Drake’s Mother Explains Her Son’s Sensitive Soul

It’s easy to understand how Drake could get weepy over being rejected romantically or appear choked-up while singing songs like “Too Much.” But if the soulful rapper really doesn’t want fans to perceive him as vulnerable and overly emotional he probably shouldn’t post selfies that look like he’s about to burst into tears…and maybe he should think twice before running to his mama to defend him.
Yet that’s just what he did after Christmas dinner by holding up his cell phone recorder and asking why people think he cries a lot. In an Instagram post captioned “My mom on why people think I cry a lot,” Drake’s mother explains that her boy is widely misunderstood.
“It’s not that you cry at all,” she says while washing dishes in a kitchen decorated with black and white checkered tiles. “I’ve never seen you cry onstage or even when the two of us are just together.”
In a second post captioned “Sensitive Soul,” she elaborates: “They don’t think you cry, they imagine that you would be a person that may cry because you are a sensitive soul.”
Drake didn’t shed tears of joy during his mother’s commentary, he laughed. Regardless, his post seems to have only further endeared him to his followers, especially the ladies in the house.
“Drake, us women love you! Who cares what the men think?” wrote dolcetiaaxco, one of more than 7,000 who commented on the posts. “I don’t even care if you cry.”
“She knows that showing emotion don’t ever make u a p----,” added another follower, 8lmnop.

As of this morning more than 227,000 had viewed Drake’s Instagrams. We’re pretty sure that made Mr. Softy at least a littlemisty.

Transgender teen's suicide note: ‘My death needs to mean something’

The suicide of a transgender teen is catching national attention in part because of a suicide note she left behind online.
Leelah Alcorn, 17, of Kings Mills, Ohio, was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on I-71 about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to local media.
Posthumous posts started to appear on her Tumblr page, titled “Lazer Princess,” including her suicide note and a post apologizing to her closest friends.
“My death needs to mean something,” she wrote. “My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say ‘that’s f---ed up’ and fix it. Fix society. Please.”
Alcorn's note explains that she has felt like a girl trapped in a boy’s body ever since she was 4. Then she cried tears of joy when she learned what transgender meant at 14.
“After 10 years of confusion I finally understood who I was,” the suicide note reads. “I immediately told my mom, and she reacted extremely negatively, telling me that it was a phase, that I would never truly be a girl, that God doesn’t make mistakes, that I am wrong.”
After her death, Alcorn’s mother was harshly criticized for referring to her child by her given name — “Joshua Ryan Alcorn” — and using male pronouns.
"My sweet 16 year old son, Joshua Ryan Alcorn went home to heaven this morning. He was out for an early morning walk and was hit by a truck,” the mother wrote.
Alcorn requested that all of her belongings and savings be donated to transgender civil rights movements and support groups.
Many people took to Twitter to mourn her death using #LeelahAlcorn and criticize the continued injustice facing transgender people today.

Sick Lindsay Lohan Parties On in French Polynesia

That's commitment, girl! After contracting the Chikungunya virus while in French Polynesia with friends, Lindsay Lohan decided to stay on vacation. On Saturday, the actress took to Twitter to share an important message following her diagnosis.
"Before I got chikungunya. Use [bug] spray please. God bless," she wrote alongside a serene pic of herself cruising on a jet ski around her luxury beach resort. A golden sky, sweeping mountains, and rows of over-the-water cabanas can be seen in the backdrop. It certainly does look like a lovely time. A series of crying emojis and praying hands completed her message.

Chikungunya is transmitted to people by mosquitos and its symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, swelling, and rashes. Though it's rarely fatal, there is no vaccine to prevent the virus or medical treatment for the condition once it's contracted. (In other words, her advice is good: Wear bug spray!) Despite her condition, however, the 28-year-old star is clearly determined to enjoy her getaway.
Just a few days after revealing she was infected, Lohan posted another update. In the Instagram shot (seen at the top of this post), the actress poses in between two of her fellow travelers, Fabienne Bratschi and longtime bestie Patrick Aufdenkamp. Sporting a spaghetti-strapped tank, aviator sunglasses, and a smattering of bracelets, Lindsay looks serene and happy.
"In good faith with good people. I refuse to let a virus ruin my peaceful vacation. Be safe and happy on the new year," she captioned the snap before adding, "And a positive, healthy new year." She repeated her use of praying hands in this post. Guess she's feeling extra-spiritual these days.

South Korean to drop Sony film in North by balloon

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A South Korean activist said Wednesday that he will launch balloons carrying DVDs of Sony's "The Interview" toward North Korea to try to break down a personality cult built around dictator Kim Jong Un.
The comedy depicting an assassination attempt on Kim is at the center of tension between North Korea and the U.S., with Washington blaming Pyongyang for crippling hacking attacks on Sony Entertainment. Pyongyang denies that and has vowed to retaliate.
Activist Park Sang-hak said he will start dropping 100,000 DVDs and USBs with the movie by balloon in North Korea as early as late January. Park, a North Korean defector, said he's partnering with the U.S.-based non-profit Human Rights Foundation, which is financing the making of the DVDs and USB memory sticks of the movie with Korean subtitles.
North Korean defector Park Sang Hak stands with activists who plan to send anti-North Korea leaflets during a rally near the Imjingak Pavilion near the border village of Panmunjom, in Paju, north of Seoul, South Korea, Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014. North Korea opened fire on Oct. 10 after activists floated propaganda balloons across the border, following through on a previous threat to attack.

Park said foundation officials plan to visit South Korea around Jan. 20 to hand over the DVDs and USBs, and that he and the officials will then try to float the first batch of the balloons if weather conditions allow.
"North Korea's absolute leadership will crumble if the idolization of leader Kim breaks down," Park said by telephone.
If carried out, the move was expected to enrage North Korea, which expressed anger over the movie. In October, the country opened fire at giant balloons carrying anti-Pyongyang propaganda leaflets floated across the border by South Korean activists, trigging an exchange of gunfire with South Korean troops.
But it is not clear how effective the plan will be, as only a small number of ordinary North Korean citizens are believed to own computers or DVD players. Many North Koreans would not probably risk watching the movie as they know they would get into trouble if caught. Owning a computer requires permission from the government and costs as much as three months' salary for the average worker, according to South Korean analysts.
Not everyone supports sending balloons into the North, with liberals and border town residents in South Korea urging the activists to stop. North Korea has long demanded that South Korea stop the activists, but Seoul refuses, citing freedom of speech.
Park said the ballooning will be done clandestinely, with the pace picking up in March when he expects the wind direction to become more favorable.
Calls to the Human Rights Foundation on Wednesday were not immediately answered. The foundation says on its website that it works with North Korean defectors to use hydrogen balloons to send material across the border, as well as smuggling items through China and broadcasting radio transmissions to reach those who own illegal short wave radios.

Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Abortion: It's 'Haunted Me All My Life'

Nicki Minaj is about as thick-skinned as they come, but she opened up about a decision that left her heartbroken back in her teen years.
The 32-year-old rapper spoke to Rolling Stone about a pregnancy that ended in abortion while she was still in high school.
"I thought I was going to die," she says when she found out she was pregnant. "I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I'd ever gone through."
According to Rolling Stone, the father of her unborn child was an older guy from Queens that she dated while still attending Manhattan's Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.
While the "Anaconda" singer admitted that the decision to have an abortion has "haunted [her] all [her] life," she thought that it was the right choice at the time.
"It'd be contradictory if I said I wasn't pro-choice," Nicki told the mag. "I wasn't ready. I didn't have anything to offer a child."
Still, Nicki acknowledges that not everyone is going to like what she has to say.
"Millions of people are gonna hear it," said Nicki. "And you gotta watch everything you say -- people find an issue with every f***ing thing."
Nicki first rapped about the incident on a track called "Autobiography" from her 2008 mixtape, Sucka Free, but made headlines with a reference to the event on "All Things Go" from her latest album The Pinkprint. On the track, Nicki makes the confession in a verse that focuses on her dreams for her younger brother, Micaiah "Caiah" Maraj.
"I want Caiah to go to college, just to say we did it," she rhymes. "My child with Aaron would have been 16 any minute / so in some ways I feel like Caiah is the both of them / It's like he's Caiah's little angel, looking over him."
Lately, Nicki has been very open about her goal to start a family. Earlier this month, she told Ellen DeGeneres that one day she wants "a little cute fat baby."
In November, she also told Complex Magazine, "If I'm done with my fifth album and I don't have a child by then, no matter how much money I have, I would be disappointed, as a woman, because I feel like I was put here to be a mother."
The Pinkprint is Nicki's third album.

However, most likely Wizkid is more focused on the Money and we know Davido says,Owo Ni Koko (Money is the main thing), so neither of them really care that much for awards, but we still want to know your opinion… So guys tell us, who do you think will win if both names are mentioned in the same category as nominees for awards in 2015.
