LIL WAYNE SUES BIRDMAN FOR $8M

Lil Wayne shocked the rap world in December by calling himself a “prisoner” on longtime label home Cash Money and
saying he wants nothing to do with longtime father figure Bryan “Birdman” Williams, the Cash Money co-founder who continues to delay the release of Wayne’s album The Carter V. Wayne took more shots at Cash Money on his new Sorry 4 The Wait 2 mixtape, declaring,

“Cash Money is an army, I’m a one-man army/ And if them niggas comin’ for me, I’m goin’ out like Tony.” Now TMZ is reporting that Wayne and Birdman tried to work out an agreement this week, but talks between them have broken down. Wayne reportedly plans to ask a judge to release him from his contract with Cash Money and to sue Birdman for $8 million, the amount Wayne says Birdman owes him as an advance for The Carter V. As for Birdman, he reportedly said he will release the album “in due time.” The report indicates that Wayne will continue to record music but will release it outside the Cash Money umbrella; so much for The Carter V being his last album.

French Montana hops on a remix of Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen.”

New Jersey native Fetty Wap has his underground hit “Trap Queen” to thank for his current successes, and now here come the remixes. This one’s official, and features French Montana.

Premiered by Funkmaster Flex, the track thusly comes with some bombs and tags, but thankfully, Flex mostly leaves this one unadulterated. For his part, Montana name-checks Big Sean, Ariana Grande, Snoop Dogg, Nas and Ghostface Killah. The artwork features a pretty literal interpretation of the song’s title, depicting a gun shoved into a high-heeled shoe.

(Video) Future – My Savages

Future drops a video for “My Savages”.

Future has been insanely prolific over the last few months. A couple weeks back, he hit us with Beast Mode, which paired him with ATL vet Zaytoven for the entirety of the release, but late last year, he gave us anotehr cohesive tape, Monster.

The Metro Boomin-executive produced project was dark and mechanical, but “My Savages” was one of the tape’s more uplifting moments, with Fewtch thanking his fans over some sentimental piano riffing. The track now has an official music video, which fittingly displays some crew love, as the rapper gathers a neighborhood crowd to come stunt for the camera.

(Video) Yo Gotti – Concealed

Yo Gotti shares visuals for the “Concealed” title track.

Last week, Yo Gotti teamed up with DJ Drama for a surprise mixtape entitled Concealed, and now he’s shared a video for the project’s title track.

Bringing along the whole squad for the Memphis video shoot, Gotti flexes his muscles as the boss of CMG, showing off several flashy cars, big chains and stacks of ones that he eagerly flings into the air. The track itself is sonically austere, but catchy, with a snappy bassline pummeling us into submission while waves of ambient sound wash over the rest of the track.
